KizKaz ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our web application, browser extension, and mobile app (collectively, the "Services").

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account using Google Sign-In, we receive:

  • Your email address
  • Your name
  • Your profile picture (optional)

Content You Save

When you save an article, we collect:

  • The URL of the page you choose to save
  • The page title
  • The page content (for generating summaries)
  • Thumbnail images when available

Chrome Extension

Our browser extension only accesses data when you explicitly click to save an article. We collect:

  • The URL and title of pages you explicitly choose to save

We do NOT collect: browsing history, data from pages you don't save, passwords, form data, or any information without your explicit action.

Analytics Data

For internal reporting purposes, we may collect basic analytics such as approximate location (country/region), device type, and browser information. This data is used solely to improve our service and is not shared with third parties.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain your personal article library
  • Generate AI-powered summaries and keywords for your saved articles
  • Authenticate your identity and secure your account
  • Communicate with you about service updates
  • Improve our services based on usage patterns

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google OAuth: For secure account authentication
  • Google Gemini AI: For generating article summaries and keywords
  • Neon PostgreSQL: For secure data storage
  • Vercel: For hosting our web application

These services have their own privacy policies and handle data according to their terms.

Data Sharing

We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your saved articles and personal information are yours alone. We only share data with the service providers listed above (Google, Neon, Vercel) as necessary to operate the service, and they are bound by their own privacy policies and data protection obligations.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in encrypted databases. We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication tokens, and regular security audits to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: View all data we have stored about you
  • Export: Download your saved articles in CSV format
  • Delete: Remove individual articles or your entire account
  • Correction: Update your account information

To delete your account and all associated data, visit the Account Settings page in the app.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your personal data and saved articles are permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Our Services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
